My name is Janet Horsley.
I have a degree in Modern Languages (French/Spanish/Portuguese) from
the University of Leeds and
have lived and worked abroad for several years,
notably I have worked at the British Embassy in Paris and at the European Commission
in Brussels.
I have lived in Carcassonne since 2007 and Carcassonne, which as you will
well know, has attracted many other British nationals over recent years,
quite a number of whom have either purchased holiday homes, as
Carcassonne Airport is very reachable from the UK, or who have
actually taken the decision to move to the Carcassonne area.What
both groups have discovered is that owning a property and / or living here
can provide many challenges and major obstacles, particularly when
dealing with the French Civil Service, French Systems and
Institutions. This is not easy even if your French is at a
reasonable level. |

translation and simultaneous interpretation services in English and
French in a wide variety of situations. I can translate documents,
write letters and emails, make phone calls and provide on-site
interpretation for a wide range of meetings. I actually offer
translation and interpretation between English, French and Spanish.
